This fascinating scifi/suspense story is a little like a cross between the book Replay and the movie Jumpers. Instead of jumping, we have mirrors--people who can pull someone back in time, allowing them to redo the past few hours. In the story, the main character, Peter, runs into one of these mirrors who is being used by a corrupt police officer. Peter then replays the day to try to undo the evil done by the officer.Porter(aka Steve Lowe) has come up an interesting idea, and has made sure to set limits on the idea and stick by those limits. (Unlike a certain Nicolas Cage movie--yeah, I'm looking at you "Next".) He also alludes to a backstory involving other mirrors and government officials, setting up the possibility for a sequel.

I didn't expect a great story, since most of my 99cent finds have been huge let-downs. But this novel had me on the edge of my seat from the beginning. This is a melting pot of time travel, heart-tugging drama, suspense, and murder that felt familiar but new at the same time.
